In January 2007
FDL designed, built and commissioned 2 x 500kVA trailer mounted generators. Each unit is designed to be deployed quickly to act
as the entire solution to a power outage. Each unit had the following design features:
- 8 hour base tank
- Facility to connect bulk fuel tank
- Integral AC and DC lighting
- Automatic or manual controls
- 800A circuit breaker
- Eight 60m lengths of cable
- Eight 30m lengths of cable
- Choice of connection to load via switched 400A/800A boxes
- Removable DC floodlights to aid night installations
- Access ladders
- Battery isolator
- 230V socket to charge batteries when unit is not in use
These units have been used heavily by Waitrose supermarkets for both planned shutdown periods and as emergency power.
